Built in stone on a Kent green-sand ridge, this single kiln oast has a series of stowages that run one after the other. Principal stone stowage is in the local estate style with Dering windows and subsequent stowage barns are timber frame and boarded. A challenging conversion made more interesting by the change in level between each part of this building. The principal entrance and living areas are at one end in the kiln and stone stowage. This is linked to the lower family end of the building by the kitchen.
